March officially has started, and so did the spring, bringing with it numerous exciting opportunities and newly opened places in Milan. This season, full of inspiration and vibrant energy, fosters a mood of motivation for sunny days and fresh adventures. Milano Carnival: from 5th to 8th of March
An intriguing, eye-catching and historically important event is coming – an Ambrosian carnival in Milan. But this year, turning a little different route, the carnival is being run four days later than the rest of Italy. Due to the adherence to the Ambrosian rite, the minor delay will conclude the event on Shrove Saturday (Sabato Grasso) on the 8th of March. The festival includes street performances and family-friendly entertainment across the city. Additionally, a market called “Mercato dei Saltimbanchi” will be found in various locations featuring street performers and vendors. The concluding day, as usual, will wrap up the celebration with a colorful parade featuring floats, jugglers, clowns, and traditional costumes which will move through central locations such as Giardini Pubblici, Piazza San Babila, Piazza Fontana, ending near Piazza Cesare Beccaria. FLUG market: on the 9th of March
For any vintage lover, Milan is a perfect place to dive into the old and fashionable items. The Flug Market in Milan is scheduled to take place at Mosso Milano, located at Via Angelo Mosso, 3. The event will run from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Being well known for featuring various stalls selling handmade and unique items,the market is a great place for shopping. In addition, the event includes performances by local Milanese music groups, creating an enjoyable atmosphere. MuseoCity: from 2nd to 8th of March

Gelato Week: from 25th to 30th of March
Last but not least, to finish the first month of spring the best idea is to visit as many ice cream spots as possible. It is so, because from the 25th of March, Over 50 gelaterias in Milan participate in the “Gelato Week” where they are offering unique and limited-edition flavors of ice-cream. Moreover, visitors have a possibility of following multiple routes, where each features a selection of gelaterias. Ranging from yellow to purple, tickets allow access to a specific route, enabling participants to taste different flavors across the city. A wide range of artisanal flavors, including traditional Italian options like pistachio, stracciatella, and hazelnut, are provided along with more innovative creations. End the month on a sweet note!
